I thought I got all the coolest LEGO sets in history, but a reader pointed out what’s probably the most shocking, darkest non-secret in its 50 years: a minifig wearing black tanga briefs. And when I say “briefs”, I mean brief. All I can ask is why? Why Mr. Kirk? Why all this painful detail? And is that David Hasselhoff, per chance? ![Ace Bayou Wireless Audio Recliner Rocks Your Buttocks [Rockin Furniture]](/wp-content/thumbs/ace-bayou-wireless-audio-recliner-rocks-your-buttocks-rockin-furniture.jpg)
The magic behind Ace Bayou’s new recliner lies in its ability to wirelessly receive audio from devices like MP3 players, home theater systems and gaming consoles—and it uses the space inside the chair to amplify the sound. Other features include a built-in 2.1 sound system with two forward-facing speakers and a subwoofer, a fire retardant foam core with black vinyl finish, and the ability to daisy-chain multiple chairs together. Plus it looks pretty damn comfortable if I do say so myself. No word on pricing or availability. (Read the full post about ‘Ace Bayou Wireless Audio Recliner Rocks Your Buttocks [Rockin Furniture]’…)

Coming just one year after the previous message rate increase, AT&T has announced another increase that will take effect as of March 30, 2008. Customers who are not on a message plan and just pay-per-message will see an increase of $.05 per message, which will bring the SMS price up to $.20 and the MMS price up to $.30. If you are currently on a messaging plan your pricing will not be affected. For those not on a plan it seems like it may be a good time to consider moving over. Samsung was one of the first to release Blu-ray players in Europe, and now they seem to have perfected it with the release of their BD-P1400 blu-ray player. The Samsung BD-P1400 is their third generation blu-ray player, yes third, it’s crazy to think they are already on their third generation versions, while many people have yet to still buy any form of HD player. Over the last month, blu-ray seems to have taken the lead in the HD format war, and seems like they will probably be the winning format. So maybe holding off until now has been of our advantage, and has let the manufacturers enhance the features, and reduce bugs from their earlier generation players. Coupling Kurzweil’s image processing with the N82’s camera, a user only has to snap a pic of the document to be read and the software will speak it back and allow you to follow along on the handset’s screen as it highlights each word read. The device is able to read just about all printed materials, from newspapers to glossy printed material and even US currency. HTC has announced they have now sold 2 million Touch handsets, which includes the Touch, Touch Slide and Touch Color. The sales are doing real well, it was just back in October that HTC had announced hitting the 1 million mark and had hoped to hit 1.5-1.8 million before the years end. Instead just a few months later they have more than doubled their October sales totals. HTC seems to have a real winner on their hands. In addition to the success HTC is having with the Touch lineup they have also been able to sell 11.8 million smartphones during 2007, which is a 12% increase from 2006. Posted Jan 29th 2008 6:32AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: CellphonesHey, that’s what Nomura International analyst, Richard Windsor, told his clients in a note published this morning. Instead of handsets, Moto may choose to refocus on becoming an “enterprise and government company.” While on a roll, Richard also raised speculation that a Chinese company might scoop up the troubled Moto before calling it “unlikely as those vendors don’t have much of an idea how to fix Motorola’s problems.” Problems he attributes to the platform and software, not hardware.
