Concept Go-Kart

Concept Go-Kart
This Go-Kart definitely looks mean enough to pick up any chick you want, although I wouldn’t take it out for a ride during the rainy season. It comes with 10″ rims and shares parts from a sportscar as well as a go-kart. When open, this 2-seater vehicle will slice through the wind in style, but with the hood closed, it remains as a work of art in your garage. No point lining up for one of these since it is but a concept, and looks set to remain that way for a long time to come. (Read the full post about ‘Concept Go-Kart’…)

Panasonic Lumix FX500

Panasonic Lumix FX500
Panasonic won’t rest until they flood the market with their digital cameras, and the latest bet is the Lumix FX500. Priced at $400 and with a release date set to May, the FX500 is similar to the “old” FX35, with the only difference being the addition of a touchscreen. The rest of the features are pretty much the same: 3-inch screen, 10.1-megapixel sensor, and the usual face recognition. The list continues with a 5x optical zoom, and a great 720p HD video recording mode. via (Read the full post about ‘Panasonic Lumix FX500′…)

The Runt Shocks

The Runt Shocks
“Why, you little runt…” is a pretty common phrase heard all over the place, especially in day-care centers with exasperated caregivers. The 3.25″ Runt stun gun looks like a pager, but it is capable of kicking out 350,000 volts of juice for a mere $40. If you want the 650,000 and 950,000 volts versions, you will need to top up the initial price with another $10 and $20, respectively. Residents living outside of New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Illinois, New Jersey or the cities of Baltimore, Philadelphia or Washington, DC will be able to use the Runt. Retro Styled Medium Format Stereo Camera

Retro Styled Medium Format Stereo Camera
To take a 3D picture, you need two lenses. So what do three lenses get you? Still just 3D, sadly. The Chinese made 3D World is just like an old fashioned TLS (Twin Lens Reflex) camera, with separate lenses for viewing and taking the photograph, only it has an extra lens to put another image on the film. Specs are exactly what you’d expect from a medium format film camera: pedestrian. The top shutter speed is 1/500 sec, it uses decidedly old-school silicone diodes to meter light and everything is proudly manual. And I want one. The 1970s sci-fi aesthetic coupled with that steampunky center cog which keeps the lenses in sync makes this a beautiful, if impractical, gadget. Watch bubbles move to the beat of your music

Watch bubbles move to the beat of your music

Do you remember back in the days where laser light shows were the coolest thing you watch? Honestly I’m not nearly old enough to remember that sort of thing, though now and again I do hear of a laser Floyd show that I’d love to check out (huge classic rock fan here). I imagine that a good part of you could at least understand the appeal of colored lasers moving in sync with music, but what would you think about bubbles? I just can’t imagine thinking to myself “boy, I bet this song would rock if there were some bubbles moving with the beat.” Apparently there is at least one person on this planet that had that very thought, because the Sound Bubbler was born. Clear iPod case pulls double duty with rotating speakers
Posted Mar 17th 2008 9:31PM by Darren MurphFiled under: Portable Audio, Portable Video iPod cases with built-in speakers have amazingly been around the block a time or two before. We’re guessing the reason shelves aren’t flooded with ‘em today has quite a bit to do with the presumably lackluster sound quality / output potential. Nevertheless, those hoping to find just a case for their precious new ipod classic need look no further, as the rotating speakers case for iPod is here to make your dreams come true. BigDog Quadruped Robot

Posted on March 18th, 2008 in Gadgets News | Comments Off

The BigDog quadruped robot is freaky to look at, and yet there is something about it that makes you want to view the video over and over again. This unique robot is even smart enough to balance itself when kicked from the side (you can view that scene in the video). I must say that it looks like a headless donkey from far away, traversing hills and valleys with relative ease. The new version is able to carry almost 340 pounds - triple its previous weight. I wonder what the military will use this for.
