These plant examining glasses bring technology developed by NASA and the Department of Agriculture and brings to your humble backyard. Put these on and you’ll be able to see areas of your lawn that may need a little help long before you’d observe the problems with your naked eyes. The lenses block out the green reflected by chlorophyll in the healthy areas of your lawn and garden, causing those areas to show as black or gray. Any unhealthy spots, deficient in chlorophyll, will show up as pink, red or coral colors. It’s the plant equivalent of full-body MRIs that detect problems before their symptoms surface. So what if you look like Rick Moranis in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, surveying your backyard in these dorky glasses that look like they came out of a box of kids’ cereal? One of the many things I love about Google is it’s design. Every design interface of each app and product is innovative and user-friendly, which is why more and more websites are copying its simplicity. Recently at the WritersUA conferece, Google’s User Designer for Google Apps John Wiley, shared the design guidelines they follow at Google. Here are Google’s Design Guidelines: Useful: focus on people - their lives, their work, their dreams. Fast: every millisecond counts. Simple: simplicity is powerful. Engaging: engage beginners and attract experts. Innovative: dare to be innovative. Universal: design for the world. Profitable: plan for today’s and tomorrow’s business. Since the 50-LED Solar Motion Floodlight relies on the power of the sun to get it going, you don’t have to worry about spoiling your room with ugly wiring. Super-bright 50-LED floodlight is as bright as a 10w halogen bulb, and stays on for 15-60 seconds (your choice) past last motion detected. And since this motion sensor light is solar-charged, you can mount it anywhere, even where there’s no electricity: shed, pool area, deck. 15′ cord connects the adjustable solar panel to the light, to position the panel in direct sunlight. Plus, this solar security light has an adjustable light sensor that prevents daylight turn-on. (Read the full post about ‘50-LED Solar Motion Floodlight’…)

The Xbox 360 is the first gaming console to feature high definition content, only to be usurped by the PS3 when the latter was released a year later (in terms of technology, not available library and titles). The demise of Toshiba’s hd dvd format also made the Xbox 360 lose out in terms of high definition content, but thankfully that drought is pretty short lived considering Virgin Media and Microsoft have just announced that by the time the year is about to turn over to 2009, Xbox 360 owners will be able to download high definition movies from the Xbox Live marketplace using a supported broadband service, taking anywhere from 15 minutes to half an hour. Sad news for Palm Treo and Windows Mobile fans: Palm CEO Ed Colligan recently announced a $31.5 million net loss for Palm and said that “new Windows Mobile Treos” are “not coming out this quarter,” then follows it up with saying the new Windows Mobile Treo smart phone should be available by the end of this year’s summer. I like how Mr. Colligan uses the term “new Windows Mobile Treos” (note that it’s Treos, with an S) when he could actually just as easily say that the Palm Treo 800W will be having a slight delay in coming out. I almost don’t want to believe that they can’t do anything about this and release their new WinMo Treos sooner, when they know very well that they need it to salvage their flailing enterprise.
