Fujitsu lets loose U810, T2010 tablet PCs

Fujitsu wasn’t all that specific about pricing or release details when it announced its new U810 and T2010 tablet PCs earlier this year, but it looks like both have now finally made their way out the door. In case you missed it, the big addition this time around is the inclusion of a built-in HSPA modem (and rather obvious antenna), which will run you an extra $200 on top of the $999 and $1,499 base prices for the U810 and T2010, respectively. Otherwise, you can expect the same 5.6-inch and 12.1-inch displays as before, along with the usual 800MHz Intel A110 processor on the U810 and a decidedly speedier Core 2 Duo 7600 processor on the T2010, among other specs not too different from the previous models. BodyBeat Metronome

Metronomes are meant for budding musicians to keep the beat while playing a tune, and the BodyBeat Metronome is certainly out of the ordinary as it is an electronic version that clips onto your fingertip, letting you feel the beat of the music instead of listening to it. Dubbed the Peterson BB-1 BodyBeat, it sends tiny pulses down the wire to your fingertip, providing you with a silent way of learning how to concentrate whenever you play a tune on your keyboard or piano. Sure as heck beats the irritating tick-tock tick-tock of a regular metronome. The Peterson BB-1 BodyBeat retails for a shade less than a Benjamin. (Read the full post about ‘BodyBeat Metronome’…)

Anyway, Virgin Mobile has posted some limited information about this new Samsung slider-style phone on their website making it a pretty sure bet of an impending release. However, all of the details have not been revealed but we are told that is weighs in at a mere 3-ounces and measures 3.8 x 1.8 x 0.7-inches. We can see from the photo and guess from the name that this is a slider. Are they just teasing us by keeping the other details under wraps. Currently unknown is the price or release date, and well, most of the spec’s. What they do list is just the basics, the Slash will include Bluetooth, a speakerphone, voice dialing, a “full color screen” as well as being both text messaging and mobile web compatible. Although Apple started offering customers movie rentals through iTunes back in January, some customers have found the service less than appealing because most of the movie titles, both from major film studios and independently produced titles, took much longer to be released as compared to DVD’s. Normally these new titles are released in iTunes 30-days after their DVD release. But Apple is pretty determined to get a sizeable share of the movie download market and possibly do what it was able to do with music downloads. Thus, it has officially announced that new movie releases can now be downloaded from iTunes on the same day that their DVD counterpart. So, now we are talking. The Scandiphone you see here will definitely be a conversation starter in your home for whoever drops by, since these are extremely rare considering how we’ve all moved on to the digital age. Then again, how many of us still have landlines? Back in the late 50s/early 60s this upright Swedish phone was all the rage amongst style-conscious chatterboxes. And now it’s back in the curvaceous shape of this fully-functioning push-button replica. Simply plug it into a standard phone socket and Sven’s your uncle! Talking about one-piece design, the landmark ScandiPhone is just begging to be grabbed and yelled into.
