The latest Xbox 360 update will see a fair amount of changes as well as additions, including “Support for titles to store installation data on Storage Device for faster loading.” In addition, the Dashboard will also see the inclusion of “Calibration options for motion sensor devices”, which brings a glimmer of hope that the Xbox 360 might turn out to be the Wii on steroids. Other changes allegedly involve support for audio delivered through feeds, such as podcasts, along with a beefier Inside Xbox section that boasts news, weather, help and community components. Exciting times are ahead, no? (Read the full post about ‘Xbox 360 Update Brings Changes’…)

by Nilay Patel, posted May 14th 2008 at 8:33PM Microsoft is making some noise today about the Xbox 360’s sales numbers — it’s the first of this generation of consoles to top 10M sales in the US. That’s well ahead of the Wii, which stands at 8.8M, and the PS3, which has under half the 360’s installed base at 4.1M units sold. Worldwide, the 360 is also doing quite well: Microsoft says it’s moved 19M consoles total, and that 12 million people are signed up for Xbox Live. That’s behind the Wii’s global sales of 25M units, but Microsoft isn’t exactly content with second place — it’s making a point to say that the 360 has the ” largest global install base of any current gen, high definition gaming console.” Take that, Mario. by Paul Miller, posted May 15th 2008 at 12:50AM RINGBO put a song in our hearts the other day, and now that we’ve pretended to sit in its little robotic seat, we can assure you that the experience is just as magical as the video makes it out to be. In case you’re curious, the bumper-mounted IR sensors work great for stopping Junior from knocking over another vase, and the controls really couldn’t be simpler. We heard a price somewhere in the ballpark of a few hundred dollars, but there’s really no telling until it lands Stateside for reals. On Tuesday night we kicked off the Mobius 2008 fun with a meet-and-greet and some fondling of the HTC Touch Diamond. Yesterday the real event started and things started in style with an intro by John Starkweather where he demoed the REDFLY, Windows Mobile 6.1, and then passed around a bunch of devices, This is usually when the gadget lust begins and with devices being shown off from Velocity Mobile, ASUS, LG, Toshiba, and others, this was certainly the case. Todd Warren, Microsoft VP of Development, then took over and answered questions we threw at him about Windows Mobile. I asked about the WIndows Update feature built-in to Windows Mobile and its lack of use. (Read the full post about ‘Mobius 2008 - Day 1: Sony, HTC, MWg, and more’…)

Apparently in this day and age where technology rules supreme, there are still some folks who prefer to rely on good old voodoo magic to take revenge instead of backstabbing one through e-mail and forums. The VoodooBuddy brings voodoo magic to the 21st century, where you enter the information of your most despised foe, followed by poking away at the doll as you please. The same theory applies here - poking certain areas of the doll supposedly allows you to curse the victim. Strangely enough, if you go overboard on your curses, it will snap a photo and send it to the victim instead automatically in order to reverse the curses. I suppose it ought to be connected to the computer or something in order for this to happen. (Read the full post about ‘VoodooBuddy Gets Update’…)

by Paul Miller, posted May 14th 2008 at 11:21AM Samsung rightly hasn’t wasted much time in finding a successor for its suddenly-vacated CEO position. Yoon-Woo Lee as of today will be taking on the role of Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, swiping the spots from Jong-Yong Yun — who will remain in an advisory role — and the disgraced former CEO Lee Kun-hee, respectively. Yoon-Woo Lee is no young upstart, however. He joined Samsung SDI in 1968 and moved to Samsung Electronics in 1977. From 1996 to 2004 he was the President of Semiconductor Business and since then he’s been working as Vice Chairman of Corporate CTO. by Chris Ziegler, posted May 14th 2008 at 10:05AMFollowing a new round of partnership announcements back in February, LiMo Foundation today added 8 new members, bringing the grand total to 40 — and perhaps most notably, Verizon Wireless becomes the first American carrier to team up with the group and the Foundation’s final board member (in other words, they seem to be taking this initiative pretty seriously). Other new players include South Korea’s SK Telecom, France’s SFR, Sagem, chipmaker Infineon, and Mozilla, suggesting that there’ll be plenty of mobile Firefox support for LiMo’s nascent platform. LiMo represents the largest Linux-based threat to Android’s plans for world domination, having a (Read the full post about ‘New players team up with LiMo Foundation’…)

Lingerie can be used for a variety of tasks. It can improve a woman’s confidence in her body. It can spice things up in the bedroom. But one thing which lingerie isn’t particularly known for is promoting environmental awareness. At least, not yet. The eco-friendly Solar Power Bra integrates a whole lot of green into one complete sexy package. Aptly colored with a green shade, the Solar Power Bra features a waist-mounted solar panel which powers a small, chest-mounted electronic billboard, or pretty much any other gadget you feel like modding onto the bra. I had a chance to see the Speed Racer movie last weekend, and if you haven’t seen it yet, let me give you my one sentence review: “Even though this film is full of nothing but unbelievable special-effects, action, and characters, it must not be missed.” Yes, nothing will help you tap into your inner child like the Speed Racer movie. If you really want to delve deep into your inner child, get some of the new Speed Racer Lego sets. The new sets include the cars from the movie, plus the drivers. These Lego sets include: Speed Racer and Snake Oiler (set 8158), Racer X and Taejo Togokahn (set 8159), Cruncher Block and Racer X (set 8160), as well as the Grand Prix Race (set 8161) which has the Mach 6, Gray Chost, and Cannonball Taylor’s GRX car along with eight minifigures.
